Willkommen bei der BILD Studie! 

BILD-Cohort steht für die Basel Bern Infant Lung Development Cohort (Kohorte) und ist eine wissenschaftliche Studie. Diese vom Schweizerischen Nationalfonds unterstützte Studie läuft seit 1999 in Bern und seit 2011 in Basel. Sie erfasst inzwischen insgesamt  rund 1000 gesunde oder frühgeborene Säuglinge, die ab Geburt an einer Langzeitbeobachtung während der ganzen Kindheit teilnehmen.

Das Ziel der Studie ist die Erforschung von Lungenentwicklung und Atemwegserkrankungen. Wir möchten herausfinden, ob es genetische, immunologische oder lungenfunktionelle Biomarker gibt, die uns schon kurz nach der Geburt voraussagen können, welche Kinder später Lungenerkrankungen, wie z.B. ein Asthma entwickeln werden. Durch unsere Beobachtungsstudie möchten wir helfen, frühe vorbeugende oder therapeutische Massnahmen für diese Risikokinder zu entwickeln.

Welcome to the BILD Cohort!

BILD stands for the Bern Basel Infant Lung Development cohort. The BILD cohort was established in 1999 in Bern, and since 2011 has also been in Basel. It is supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation. The longitudinal study has recruited almost 1000 infants since its inception, whose lung growth and development are then studied throughout childhood.

The goal of the study is a better understanding of infant and child lung growth and development in relation to lung diseases such as asthma. We are interested in understanding the effects of genetics and the environment (air pollution, in particular) on children's developing airways.
